mac-fdisk should be available for other architectures. If you need to
prepare a USB memory stick for installing Linux on a Mac, the stick
needs to be formatted as a Mac boot disk. For this you need mac-fdi

is set in gconf setting /apps/metacity/global_keybindings (as is the
shortcut for minimizing all windows to show the desktop, for example),
while the shortcut for locking the screen is set in
/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/keybind

When gdm starts, the bottom 100px or so of the screen are briefly filled
with random garbage. This only lasts for a second or so. Graphics are
fine otherwise.
I am using feisty on a Samsung X20 laptop with an Intel 915GM graphics
card at 1400x1050 (set by 915resolution).
