That machine died last year. One of the memory slots quit working and
the the hard drive controller failed. I live in the tropics.

After testing other options including the latest Ubuntu kernel, I
believe that the loss of one of the two memory slots in the T22 is the
source of the problem. I cannot be sure, but this seems to be the most
likely explanation. I can only get the T22 to recognize memory in one

have never done this. I have a good deal of experience with Windows
operationg systems but have only been using various Ubuntu versions for
a few months.

I am currently working with the Feisty beta in Xubuntu. I like the
lighter load this version puts on my memory since I only have 256Meg in
the machine.
