Today I've tried again Ubuntu 13.04, and doesn't start like Ubuntu 12.04(02).
Ubuntu 13.04 shows a full violet screen.
I've tried to add nomodeset on kernel, and remove quiet and splash, and this is
the error:

Only the 12.10 amd64 version for me, but so lucky and random.

Today i've tried Ubuntu 13.04 amd64 desktop live from USB, on a laptop Sony
Vaio E Series SVE1712Z1E, and it cannot starts completely.
After the boot and loading of Ubuntu, it shows a blackscreen without errors.
I've tried to edit kernel parameters like "nomodeset" but withou
Ubiquity freeze on 2nd step (after install updates from internet
selection).
Intel on Z77 Motherboard, Intel i3770k, Radeon 5850 1GB,
2x160GB Stripe 0
2x1 TB, 389GB Stripe 0, 736GB Mirroring 1.

Only with Lucid Ubuntu (no on Karmic).

Opengl game, like World of Warcraft, works flawlessy with vsync on at 60Hz/fps.

I get the same problem with Lucid 2.6.32 PAE.
No problems with 2.6.34-5 PAE from PPA repository or Karmic.

Same bug here with an Acer 5920G and secondary ext3 partition. It
doesn't display any warning to the user.

jaunty kernel 2.6.28-11 kernel update renders the system un-usable.
I've same problem with Ext4, Jaunty 9.04 x64 and kernel 2.6.28-11).
Sometime, without blackout or crash, the applications on Jaunty diseappear or

Using "Make USB startup disk" with Jaunty ISO... the installation detect
"usb device" like a "optical/cdrom" drive with wrong parameters.
I've removed "/dev/sdd1 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8
0 0" from /etc/fstab and rebooted for fix it!
Now nautilus mount
I've installed many times ubuntu on my "fake" Raid 0 Intel ICH10 (P5Q Deluxe).
Any time, i type on the terminal "sudo apt-get install dmraid", I click on
Install and Ubiquity crash in the end of setup process.
I reboot my pc, again "sudo apt-get install dmraid"... and I do a manual
installation o
p.s. I can mount only with gparted/root.

I've the same problem today with 2 different usb pendrive (fat32!):

I don't know if i must open a new bug:
I've installed today Jaunty alpha4 and work fine with Ext4 partition but have
dmraid_rc15.xxx package that don't work with my Intel ICH10 Raid.
I've typed this and others commands without success:
$ sudo dmraid -ay

It's happen the same with Ubuntu 8.10 Alternate and Ubuntu 8.10 Live CD!

You must load the nvidia-settings at every reboot/boot (ALT+F2 -> type
"nvidia-settings -l" without quote), and you must ensure:
1) VBlank enabled on OpenGL Settings and XVideo settings of the nVidia panel
(ALT+F2 -> and type "nvidia-settings").
2) VSync enabled on CompizConfig -> General Options
After shutdown. And power-up the tearing are back... but I've fixed with a
simple "nvidia-settings -l" on "session" of Ubuntu (the application started on
boot up).
Now Vsync work perfectly.
My os is Ubuntu 8.10 amd64/x86_64, kernel 2.6.27-9-generic, nVidia 8800 GT,

I can't understand how this bug affect for a long time... without a fix from

tested have this bug.
With compiz disabled, the video output works perfectly (VBlank enabled, OpenGL
vsync enabled on nVidia setting
