[Bug 1574054] [NEW] Logout on first attempt fails, killing desktop icons

Public bug reported: I've done a fresh install (upgrade) of ubuntu 16.04. When I click on Logout button, all the icons on the desktop disappear, however I donot get logged out. I repeat the process and this time I get logged out. I tried this multiple times and the problem is consistent. Even
