Please use apt
remove the slack from the sbin: #sudo rm /usr/sbin/slack
now create a soft link: #sudo ln -s /usr/lib/slack/slack /usr/sbin/slack
This resolved the issue in my case. Now you can run slack from the
terminal.

I was trying to replace my old Ubuntu 14.04 installation with the new
one, and I also wanted to format over my CentOS 6.6 installation. It
seems like installation went fine, but it failed right at the end,
saying that it was not able to install grub boot loader on the specifie

In command prompt type:su
It will ask password for root. After that you can edit those changes.

reverted to is using the "Print to File" option in the Print dialog with
the file type as pdf.
I guess that doesnt allow too much configuration of pdf generation
options but its better than everything going into ~/PDF or some ot
