1. I've heard the cracks in case of concurrent PulseAudio usage, though
I cannot reliably reproduce the problem. But PulseAudio did not notify

This makes no sense to me. The stack trace shows that VLC called the
crashing pa_channel_map_to_pretty_name() with a correctly initialized
parameter. map.channels = 2, and the first two channel values are LEFT
and RIGHT. pa_channel_map_to_pretty_name() should return "Stereo" then.

1080p decoding is very CPU intensive task. It is simply IMPOSSIBLE that
it would only use 10% of your CPU. Indeed, I can "reproduce" the
problem: my 2,8 GHz CPU is totally saturated and VLC is forced to
discard most frames. This is clearly visible with: 'vlc -vv'
I guess WMP and Qt use video decod
It's crashing while trying to close a FILE pointer from within glibc
freopen() from within the lua5.1 file loader. This smells quite fishy.
