The reported problem still affects Intrepid and Jaunty. The source of the problem is upstream, in vanilla kernel itself. H/W products affected seem to be the whole HP Netserver LT, LP and LC ranges. From my own tests: install in HP LP6000r works, as install CD (Intrepid) sees the virtual disk as
