I notice this occasionally on my ASUS Eee PC 1201T. It could be that
after suspend, it breaks, but I haven't confirmed that. Usually I
suspend my netbook when I'm done with it.

On my GA-770T-USB3 motherboard, adding exactly SUSPEND_MODULES="xhci-
hcd" to the exact file /etc/pm/config.d/unload_module works extremely
well for me on Maverick with kernel 2.6.35-25-generic.

I can confirm this on my ASUS EeePC 1201T with Ubuntu 10.10. I think it
happens when I switch back to the internal monitor coming back from an
external VGA LCD with a larger resolution than the internal monitor.

I actually had this in Debian Squeeze. No telling what the error was there, but
it did freeze the computer.
I also don't know if Ubuntu even has this problem...looks like it's fixed.

Confirmed with both suspend and hibernate on Ubuntu 9.10 on a HP Pavilion
dv5029US.
It seems to suspend successfully, but on booting it stays on a black screen (no
back-light) and seems to be stuck.
Hibernation also seems fine, but booting into Ubuntu again works fine and
Ubuntu says "Waking up.

I have this too, I was just about to report it and this showed up.
Hope a fix comes, I'm sick of this.
I have 2 batteries, one came with my laptop in the first place, other one was
bought, which is the one that says this.

Here is the solution:
Remove ALL linux-restricted-modules related packages, and uninstall ALL
proprietary ATI-related drivers. Go into a TTY and shutdown GDM (or kdm)
and edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf (I like vim) and replace all occurences of
"fglrx" with "radeon". Start GD

The installation that had this bug is LONG gone, anyway, it was Ubuntu
8.10.
So to keep this updated, I had many reinstalls, so the bug got pwn'd.

The log-off button has the 'no image' icon (see the attachment).
The logoff window also looks ugly, the other programs using GTK+ (e.g. Firefox)
