A "/" in the name of the file is interpreted as trying to save in a
subfolder of the current location. If I try to do this now in GEdit, I
get an error message saying the subfolder can't be shown because it does

This is indeed another problem. Regarding avoiding missing entries,
you can delete them from inside Rhythmbox (right click->Move To Trash).
Rhythmbox settings are in ~/.local/share/rhythmbox . So I guess this

Thanks for reporting this. On x86, with the same unity version, it
works ok. So maybe this only affects the amd64 version.
