Had the same bug running kernel 3.11 on Mint 15 (which is based on
Raring). Everything was fine for a long time until suddenly one day
while downloading a torrent!!! my filesystem locked to read-only and
torrent stopped. Reboot solved it, but two days later, it happened
again. Definitely not a hard
Compiz is using 35% - 45% CPU just moving windows from the left to right
edge of the screen. Compiz is using 3.3% CPU at first then when I move a
window to snapping zone, the animation is sluggish, then compiz' CPU
usage spikes to 35%, then later it becomes smoother. But it stays at

For me, (version 3.7.9) if I add "export CLUTTER_VBLANK=none" to
/etc/environment, it speeds up the animations considerably on my Radeon
4250 chip. Though there is still a slight persistent lag but it's
smoother overall.

in Gnome 3.2, but in 3.6 there is lag. Recently I tried out development
