released. I am now on NVIDIA Driver Version: 319.17, and the behavior is
exactly the same -- go into suspend, come out of suspend, and -- only
then -- can the brightness can be adjusted.

This is a regression, as this worked just fine before.
Recently, after some Ubuntu updates, Guake starts with a gap, roughly
the size of window titlebar, going across, with the Desktop visible
beneath.

Another observation: When switching to Fullscreen Mode, Guake doesn't
display the aforementioned gap; however, as soon as I switch out of

@Rykel - considering that MS still offers Skype for cross-platform
consumption, I don't believe they're changing that model to the negative
anytime soon. There are plenty of people that pay using Skype (including
me), and do so on multiple devices / platforms.
Also, I believe -- as A.Smith
Having a workaround doesn't lessen the severity of the bug. My wife
would rather stop using Ubuntu (she's a recent Ubuntu adopter) and
reboot into Windows to use Skype for international calls than having to
fiddle with the CLI.
Is there an outlook towards a fix?

only shows Please enter you account details Cancel / OK, but becomes
unresponsive when trying to click OK. There should be some more info

Recently, I am seeing a few kernel panics.
The latest one happens when asked to run E: dpkg was interrupted, you
must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
I've also seen them when trying to change compiz settings.

Kernel Panic when
To catch the kernel panic message, I ran apt-get update apt-get dist-
upgrade from the command-line. Please see screenshot attached. I can
reproduce this every time.
