Thanks for checking on this. I can no longer reproduce this output
either. I can't tell what changed since the pre-release version that
affected this, but I guess that doesn't really matter as long as the
issue is gone.

With the above package versions, any use of
`pkg_resources.get_distribution` issues the warning:

I can confirm that this still occurs with a clean install of 14.04.2.
Adding the specified configuration does indeed fix the problem, but this
is not apparently part of the default configuration.

I was experiencing the same problem as the OP with kernel 2.6.32-24. I
installed the updated kernel out of lucid-proposed (Linux
2.6.32-25-server #44-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux), and I still see the
same symptom, but the call trace is now different:
