cheers for that,
Xubuntu uses synaptic package manager, but they do the same thing i guess.
by "forcing the version" i was able to downgrade the two following files from

and this seems to have re-enabled openGL.

Hi Dave, thanks for looking into this.
Am i correct in thinking this is a debian/linux bug more that an "just" ubuntu
disto's (from the arch-linux post)?
Also as a possible quick fix
1) Is there any way of reverting the system back to the earlier versions of the
updated files?
2) or/and Blackl

this problem seems to still occur, I have not run linux for long and i
have only noticed this randomly in the last month.
Problem = "A" Window grabs control of the mouse and does not let go, can
still move the mouse but no interaction with any part of the screen.

Fixed.. by running
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:glasen/intel-driver
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

Hi i run a Dell Lat D505 with a Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated
Graphics Device (rev 02).
Same "Segmentation fault (core dumped)",
Also had "[drm:intel_prepare_page_flip] *ERROR* Prepared flip multiple times"
The page flip error i have "suppressed" by installing driconf and
setting Sync
I also have this problem running Xubuntu 12.04.1
Log files have bloated to 92% of my 20G partition in a few days.
I may also try the solution from Foice : Disable the ACPI in the BIOS.
but first I am going to try viewing the files to see what all the messages are.
