Looks like it has been fixed. Can we get this backported for 18.04
since it is a regression from the previous LTS 16.04 where the epass2003
worked great.

After installing ubuntu14.04.1 onto a separate drive in my home built
tower which I already had windows 8.1 pro install on another drive.
Before the installation of ubuntu the windows 8.1 was working properly.
This is not to say or imply that ubuntu is at fault in this proces
