This bug can be seen while running linux on a 'Live' CD. I tried prior
versions of Ubuntu, latest Debian, and latest Mint. From these, and
from msevior's report on Fedora, it appears that this bug happens only
on Ubuntu 10.04 (Mint is derived from Ubuntu 10.04.)
