well, to avoid reconfiguring uninstalled packages, I use aptitude and
tomboy/knotes
just ask sudo aptitude purge mysql-common
and it will display a list of packages needs to be removed, copy and paste them
to notes.
then accept the solution.
After complete removal and reinstalling mysql
copy the
I can say that this problem occurs to those who had changed their mysql data
dir.

aptitude purge mysql-server mysql-server-5.5 mysql-client mysql-client-5.5
mysql-common
removing mysql-common removed dozens of other packages, which I copied and now
reinstalling.
after that I removed the mysql etc folder
sudo rm /etc/mys
