Xorg crashed
Happens regularly when I boot, compiz relaunches automatically and this error
always goes with an error about an apt crash. Everything seems to be working
fine after.
The black screen happened here also regularly but haven't seen that one for a
little while now. (fixed by restarting lightdm or
the apt crash I mentioned might be unrelated but seems to always to go

If I switch with NVIDA X server settings I can put it to 60Hz and xrandr will
display the correct refresh rate. Switching back to 50Hz also gives correct
xrandr values.
So probably the init is done on 50Hz instead of 60Hz.

When I tried to scan with an HP CM3220fxi using Simple Scan or XSane,
both programs would say that they couldn't connect to the scanner,
without providing an explanation. After searching on the Internet, I
found out that I had to install a plugin from HP to enable scanning.
They don't bother me, of course. I'm not running this on my main PC. ;)
But I will report every bug I see, unless I'm specifically told not to
report for a certain class of bugs.

With the upgrade from kernel 2.6.32-16 to 2.6.32-17, 3D stopped working.
In .17, many games crash and compiz launches the fallback window
manager. When I boot into .16, everything works like normal.
I think this is a packaging bug. The package

Yes, installing linux-backports-modules-nouveau-2.6.32-17-generic
enables 3D again.

I responded to the GNOME bug report. If I open the playlist using the
Totem file chooser, the Save button does not remember the file name.

I have one user in the user list of GDM. If I click on it, everything is
fine. But if I just press Enter to select is, GDM will crash once. Then,
when GDM comes up again, I can press Enter to select it, and everything
is fine again.
