Since an update to kernel 3.0.0-14-generic I haven't had any problems.

I'm having the same problem but just noticed that it works when you
click on the topmost pixel row of the scroll bar. Not really a
workaround but may give you some information what's going wrong.

This problem is gone for me in oneiric, so I will unsubscribe. On
another note, I do have a problem when undocking with a locked screen,
the unlock dialog do not appear... but that is not relevant here.

Is there a tool to get the screen shot of the kernel panic, or is it
sufficient with a cell phone photo?, It all happens so quickly even I
panic, but I see some text about a trace in console mode that I have no
idea how to copy other that on paper. Thanks in advance.

I just tested against kernel
3.1.0-999-generic_3.1.0-999.201110200416_i386, bug remains, kernel panic
occurred while on battery power, I attach the output from the
installation of that kernel since it gave an error.

So far I have experienced random kernel panic with the new kernel 3
which did't happen using kernel 2.6, I'm under the impression it happens
when the laptop is not plugged in, the main symptom is that any sound
being playing at the time of the kernel panic gets stuck on a part

Found a workaround to reenable touchpad:
* sudo aptitude install dconf-tools
* dconf-editor
* Search for: /org/gnome/settings-daemon/peripherals/touchpad/
* Check "touchpad-enabled"

can't enable touchpad in Ubuntu 11.10
Clean install fixed the problem for 10 minutes. Enabled 2 finger
scrolling, worked fine. Another 5 minutes, touchpad is gone...

Thinkpad T410, same problem after upgraded from natty to oneiric. Post
37 did not fix it. Touchpad works _before_ login, but after login only
trackpoint works.
