Sigh, unfortunately it's sufficient if there's one single Unicode file
in a huge tree of thousands of folders and files to bring it down. So
zip is basically broken and unusable on 24.04 LTS. After delivering a
broken Ceph version with Ubuntu and not fixing it for half a year, now

I can also confirm the new packages works. If you are on the caracal
PPA, have upgraded and got a broken OSD due and a non-working ceph-

* sudo add-apt-repository ppa:james-page/dalmation
* Deleting the caracal file from /etc/apt/source.list.d

@james-page: Thanks! I see where you're coming from. Just let me point
out: I understand that Ceph is targeting for the most part rather huge
installations where Ceph is running on its own servers or in a Docker
container and that's what the Ceph folks suggest to use. And I certainly
understand tha
@james-page: I see. Thanks a lot for the update. Very reassuring to have
at least a ballpark timeframe. We're obviously waiting very anxiously,
because Mantic support is running out on July 11th.

Existing Ceph nodes on Ubuntu 23.10 cannot be upgraded due to the broken
Ceph version currently in Noble:

It seems this was fixed at the end of March, but the GIT version in
Noble is from March 1st. Considering that the support for Mantic is
running out soon
Umm, could stuff like that get a little bit more priority perhaps? It's
a total nightmare that Ubuntu Server is actually shipping with broken
Ceph packages that can't even be installed easily.

I'm unsure if this is exactly the same issue, but, yes I still have the
issue that my password is not accepted if I just enter it on the
password prompt and press Enter. What I figured out so far is that the
problem seems to arise from the fact that my password starts with a
capital letter. During
@james-page: Thanks a lot for the clarification! I already assumed that,
but it's very good to know for sure what will happen.

I wonder why no one else is bothering about this.
I could not install Amarok under Gutsy at all due to this no matter what I
tried.
By far the easiest way I found to solve this is though:
Download both files with "Size mismatch" manually and install them with "dpkg
-i".

Still does not work in feisty here. Everything is configured properly but hangs
in pptpconfig.
Workaround for the desperate:
You can start the connection manually with "pon " after you configured it
in pptpconfig.
This should create an additional interface like "ppp1". You can check with
"ifconf
This still happens to me on Feisty. On many different PCs and modems at the
office and at home. I think this is a major bug. It doesn't happen under
Windows. And Ubuntu claims to be user-friendly. Not a big problem when there is
some bug an a graphics app or some icon isn't drawn propertly - but
