I did a routine update of the kernel like I always do when Update
Manager says so. After rebooting, no Internet connection in Network
Manager. No World Wide Web, no Apt-Get..., nothing.
After sleuthing around on the Internet on another computer I was able to
figure out that
So whether it be broken/missing libs or bad USB device enumeration
causing upowerd to be either not available or slow to start, it would
seem unity-settings-daemon could at least be improved to be robust
enough not to segfault if upowerd is not present.
In the meantime, I was able to solve the USB

others using different video drivers (ati, nouveau and now intel) may
indicate the problem lies at least not with the video drivers.

I finally got it to install by removing any previous configuration files
that I had altered. Back them up first if you are nervous
cd /etc/mysql
sudo cp my.cnf my.cnf.april16
Sudo rm /etc/mysql/my.cnf
that may be enough to get it running. I also removed a the mysqld.cnf
file under /etc/mysqld/mys

Creating symlinks as suggested in comment #2 has the unwanted side
effect of creating duplicate entries for KDE applications in the Search
and Applications lense.
So it would seem the proper fix would instead be for Unity to grab the

It appears any GL application in a Mir session will hard crash the
session back to lightdm greeter.

This is not a Bug, it is the correct behavior. The Clip Monitor window
has 3 Tabs (Clip_Monitor, Project_Monitor, Record_Monitor)
The Clip Monitor is supposed to play the clips in your project tree. It
is the Project_Monitor the you use to play the Project in time line.

to add debugging info to dbus. I was out and experienced the bug. When I
got back I ran sudo dbus-monitor --system for few minutes and collected
the attached output.

posted.I have installed 14.10 Plasma 5 on my laptop, which is a vintage
2011 System 76.
Of greatest significance is that it has an nvidia 560M

This is on krillin r166.
dbus-daemon was running at 100% for a few hours today. I noticed that
when I launch System Settings, it causes dbus-daemon to run at lose to
100% until it opens. I also noticed that when I launched Systen
Settings, after it finally opened, dbus-daemo
I think that the sometimes factor is actually whether the profile is
currently logged into Google Services. If I log out of Google and do the
search, I get the client string. If I log back in, when I search again,
there is no string.
