The 'bios-outdated-1.13' tag confuses me.
It's true that I am running (dmidecode says...) Vendor: LENOVO Version:
N14ET29W (1.07 )
but there is no mention of display fixes in the release notes that
accompany n14ur12w (1.13).
I can update my bios but wanted to understand if the tag addition was

Attaching after suspend/resume no longer results in a crash.
The screen frequently fails to restore on the first try. dmesg has

and reboots when I attach an external display.
Process:
- put laptop to sleep.
- come into work the next day
- open up laptop
- plug in external display
- observe bug

Li Daobing's suggestion (#8) to update from Shawn P Huang's PPA does
seem to help the problem quite a bit. There is a much much smaller leak
of about 2 bytes per input method switch, but that is much better than
the version in 10.4

powertop parses the kernel config to make suggestions about things to
turn on and off. On karmic, however, the kernel config
(/boot/config-2.6.31-10-generic) is one
I did have evo open to my contacts page, but way over in workspace 5,
while I was typing away in a terminal on workspace 2. Not really sure
what part of that caused the crash. Will follow up if I can find a
reliable test case.

I'm happy to report that suspend/resume seems to be working with this weeks
(as of 4 april 2009) updated packages.

This report is a failure to suspend. I haven't been able to test resume

This failure to suspend happens 100% reliably.

I'm seeing a similar inability to come back from sleep on a thinkpad
x40. Green moon flashes, but I cannot interact with the computer in any
meaningful way except to power it off.
