solution here.
Has the Maxima package
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maxima/5.44.0-2) maintainer,
~camm-debian, been notified? I don't know if package maintainers are
notified automatically about bugs reported against
`kill` removes values and properties. `reset` assigns the initial value
of a symbol to the symbol. In both cases, these functions aren't
specifically designed to free up memory, so I think that one can't
expect them to. So the observed behavior is, I think, not a bug.
There is a new function
I can't reproduce this bug with the version 5.17.1 or the current
version (5.38). I recommend closing it.
