Another affected used. Syncing partition tables with a refit rescue cd
was able to rectify the problem. It occurred for me when I tried to
install grub to /dev/sda and to (hd0).

The only way I could fix it was by setting the region on my dvd drive.

dvd, it crashes. Opening VLC from terminal gives me the following
