I was going to install - dual boot with XP but when I encountered this
problem I didn't pursue any further. I did not want to risk a broken
machine. However, if it is safe to install, I will do so and then I'm
happy to try out a new kernel. I won't get around to doing anything
until the weekend ear
Retried apic=debug with splash and quiet removed. The final screen was a

When booting from a Live CD on my ACER Veriton M646 I get through the
option screen (selecting UK keyboard and English language) and then get
a kernel panic. The same thing happens with the Fedora 10 Live CD. The
