things are now solved, with following comments.
- downgrade to 10.04 LTS solves the issue. (But the available software is not
matching my needs anymore)
- upgrade to 11.10 also solves the issue. (But Unity and Gnome Shell are really
nothing for me, I consider that Nautilus has been _downg
OK.
If some evidence is needed to show that I'm not the only case, please
have a look at following thread.

Hi,
20 days later, nothing happens. I'm not familiar with bug tracking, but
when I see "unassigned" and "undecided" at the top, I get the feeling
nobody is looking at it. But I might be wrong.
Anything more I can do to get things moving?

OK, I did read the doc, and my choice would be for "kernel" as a
package. I don't know if I should update that somewhere in the bug
