Yes I could override the whole file - but I'd have to copy and maintain
the non-wildcard entries myself. That's more tedious than being able to
correctly override the .default sysctls as usual.

I've been using `-machine type=kvm` (so the default, pc-i440fx).
Switching to q35 fixes the issue, and the other OS images are still

The point of this bug report is that the fix to LP#1672464 removed a
binary package name from xenial - this is like changing an API contract.
But xenial has long since shipped with this breakage, so this report can
be ignored.

jumps. In Trusty, /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate actually stops ntpd so
ntpdate can run. Debian jessie doesn't do this, so if this was from

When configuring racoon to connect to an IPSec gateway that requires a
remote ID of type user_fqdn and an Xauth login, racoon in Hardy (from
ipsec-tools 0.6.7) doesn't do this, and instead proposes it's IPv4

Just noticed that the Ubuntu linux-kernel package for 2.6.17 in edgy
already has this module, but that it's called realcap instead of
realtime.
Also, it has a patch basically like mine, and like mine, it doesn't
work. But that'll be a different bug report!
