Same issue. Lenovo Thinkpad X1. Looks like it started with kernel version
5.4.0-45 and remains in 5.4.0-47. With 5.4.0-42 trackpad is listed as
↳ SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad
in xinput, with 5.4.0-45 and 5.4.0-47 it shows as
↳ Synaptics TM3418-002
according to Xorg.0.log same driver is loaded
Kernel 5.4.0-48 fixes the problem. The TouchPad is recognized correctly
and touch pad, buttons, and track point work. Thank you.
