I can confirm that davidaf's work around worked. Though the interesting
thing to me was that in 19.10 I didn't have to put the file in initrafs.
After upgrading to the 20.04 daily builds this became necessary. Not
sure if that means anything or not. Just thought I'd provide an extra
data point.

Xorg crashes in Precise with Dual Scre
I'm having the same issue in Hardy Beta 4. This is installed on my
laptop and use it for daily use. Let me know what I need to attach to
help resolve this issue. The log out and log in works for me, however
this is annoying. The 'setxkbmap' does not resolve my issue.
