I have this same problem. Upon reboot Digital Output (S/PDIF) volume is
always set to maximum.
I think I've traced it to the pulse module module-device-restore.
Attached is a log, loglevel=4. I can see that module-device-restore
opens the TDB file, but I never see in the log something like
With quantal I still have problems, like jabastien above. Pressing the
power button pops up a dialog where only the shutdown button works. The
suspend button does nothing. When I pick suspend from the menu in the
top right corner the computer will enter suspend mode. Ideally I could

As a recent convert from Windows 7, this issue was the first thing I
noticed. Initially I thought, This is Linux, I'm sure there's an
option for that! But unfortunately it seems not. Please make this an
option so I can have this feature.
It certainly will help with Bug #1, at least in my eyes.
