I'm very sure that it happens to every 15.04 system running continuously
24/7. BUT it seem to be very much related to the java-stuff involved in
running Jenkins or a TeamCity agent (as with the actual affected
system).
I have not upgraded the BIOS yet - and I do not think that it could
affect it.
On one of the machine suffering from this I run jenkins. Shutting down
jenkins immediately gets kswapd back to normal. Starting jenkins again
makes kswapd spin again. But a reboot mitigates the problem for several
days.
I'll keep investigating this.

For some reason the system still used kernel 3.13 after the upgrade - on which
it failed. Upgrading to 3.19 did not change anything.
I have difficulties believing that and userspace sutff could cause it, but
maybe
the systemd-stuff could affect it anyhow.

It does not have to be the "auto-connection" setting. You can even
change the IP-allocation policy from DHCP to Manual.

Hervé - you are right. I works as a software developer and this bug
would clearly be a blocker - meaning that we cannot realease until it's
resolved. Simple John Joe tpye of things must always work. I know little
of any about networkmanager, but given the right instructions I'd be
able to debug it.

I can add that flipping ipv5 setting to "ignore" and then back to

I reopened the bug since it's still present. My comment above is still
valid, but auto connecting stops working when suspending to ram or
rebooting. So basically the desired behavior can be obtained temporarily
by removing and adding the network in question.

Ok basically the quick fix for me was to copy
/usr/lib/syslinux/gfxboot.c32 onto the USB-disk to match the version of
syslinux mbr actually installed on the USB-flash.
I guess a plausible fix would be to just copy over all syslinux files
and not used those present in the iso-file from the beg

Heres a log on a KDE startup and as far as I can see it is a cascade
looking something like this.
DriverManager start python3 which then starts aplay which then again starts
pulseaudio. Parallel to that kmixctl is also starting pulseaudio. Both lines of
events happen 2 or 3 times. They sort of

When starting up libreoffice (it does not matter which component) the
screen is no redrawn and the window does not react to close event and
needs to be killed to quit.
I have not much more info than this except that I have tried deleting
the configuration and got the same res

Ok - for a standard user usecase QT_VERSION should afaik not be set. It
is only uset by qtchooser to bind the correct development tool.

qt5-default should make Qt5 development tools default. The problem is just that
QT_SELECT=qt4 is set by something in KDE. So when Qt5 is installed the Qt4
tools will be executed no matter what.
Unsetting QT_SELECT makes Qt5 tools default as intended.

I can add that it is the first instance started that is the correct one.
Shutting that doesn will make it respawn. That is not the case for the
second instance.
