I have this problem in UNR 9.10 and Ubuntu 9.10 amd64 on my desktop pc.
I added my ICQ account and add contact in group Users. After exit from empathy
contacts lost.

Imported gtalk account not connect. Add server info to talk.google.com and
other option as SSL and old SSL without result.
After change string: Nickname=to_mynickname in ~/.mission-control/accounts.cfg
file in my home
This problem still actual in ubuntu 9.10 karmic.
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
don't work in my ~/.profile.
