It was booting fine on Ubuntu 14.10 and I did a dist-upgrade. Following the
dist-upgrade, Ubuntu would fail to boot. When entering recovery mode, I found
the boot froze on the exact same lines as in the OP.
I have a core i5-520m and a Radeon 5650M.
I tested kernel 3.1
I can confirm this bug with a current 12.04 setup. Evince shows the
files just fine but the print (on some printers) doesn't include the
images.
Adobe Reader prints the files happily on the same printers.
Evince 3.10 from 14.04 also prints the files just fine.

This bug is absolutely not fixed! The message is hidden but the system could'nt
launch xorg and gdm. Blank screen and only ctrl-alt-del can reboot the machine

I have updated Ubuntun to 10.04 LTS
As far as I see resume from standby works much better, even thou there
is still a blurry moment before login again.
And Hibernate seems to be just like a shut down : no resume, just a
normal boot sequence.

Can confirm it with the additional condition that evo-a-n only crashes
for me when beryl/compiz is enabled. is another stacktrace needed?

use kerberos keytab = True
is removed from smb.conf

Changes made from the time that it was working to now:
- added to smb.conf:

- re-ran 'net join'
