Hi all, I'm on Acer 4741 laptop. I multiboot and I've problem with all the distro I have on this computer (e.g. Slackware 3.2.29 kernel, Ubuntu 3.2.0-29-generic-pae kernel). This has been like this for about 2yrs already.
I applied the patch given above with minor adjustment to one of the function name (from ACPI_EC_DELAY to ec_delay) and it seems to work fine as of this post. Now, I'm stuck with this 'patch' work until this is included in the main kernel, which seems to be bleak given the fact that this issue is atleast 2yrs old already. My question now is how and from where do we get this patch for every kernel release? Luca, you have been posting diffs for several kernels. How do you do that?
