I think I'm hitting the same issue on an up-to-date installation of
10.10.
What I did, essentially, is:
1. install emacs, org-mode, texlive-latex-base, texlive-latex-recommended
2. create an org file with Cyrillic characters, in UTF-8
3. request org-export to PDF

There are two notions of full screening: WM-level, and application-
level, with the former not being bound to a keystroke, and the latter
being app-dependent, but mostly F11.
So, when you do WM-level fullscreening, Unity properly detects that and

I second Anatoly on this issue.
I'd even suggest that 'vi' should default to the compatible mode as
well.
Rationale: extremely user-visible functionality should work by default.
Favoring hjkl movement keys over arrows is, well, so 1999. People
expect better.
