Public bug reported:
After updating to the 3.13.0-30-generic kernel sound has stopped
working. DMESG gives numerous errors about unknow symbols and
disagreeing about version of symbol while loading the snd_hda_codec.
Reverting to a previous kernel (3.13.0-29-generic) restores sound.
Hi,
I managed to solve this error and do the upgrade from 13.10 to 14.04.
If you have the Xorg-edgers PPA enabled you have to purge it first, in
order to revert to the original config. However, I thought I just had to
remove the PPA from my software sources and be done with it. That didn't
work
Public bug reported:
Update from Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 to 14.04 failed due to 3rd party software
channels. However, these channels were removed previously, so it seems
that the updater uses a cached software list or something?
