I still have this issue in Xubuntu 12.04 LTS with Matlab R2009a in the
xfce4-panel. The main matlab window and the editor window. I have to use
Alt+TAB shortcut to access de window because it dissapears from XFCE
Panel. Any ideas?

xfce-session crashes using shortcut exo-open --launch Web
When digging more in the problem, i realized that after the downgrade of
XFCE 4.10 to 4.8 the system also upgraded other 50MB of packages and
after that asked to restart the computer. I did so, and the odd thing i
remember is "i will have to install proprietary ATI drivers again". I
use hardware 3D
as a workaround i set the shortcut to simply "firefox" and not the exo-open
link...
Even after reseting the directories mentioned in post #3, hitting Super+W (the
default shortcut to Firefox) the session crashes the same. So, may be is
something that got misconfigured after the downgrade.

I tried to apply the first short patch dated 5 dec and it did patched
with the --ignore-whitespace, but the machine did not booted. Then i
tried to apply the patch dated Dec 22 it could not patch even with the
ignore spaces parameter. Then i applied patches dated Dec 20 first and

my system but no fix still. I tried editing fstab "sudo nano /etc/fstab"
and uncommented the swap line but system wont boot either, this time the

I managed to overcome this bug by uninstalling all ATI catalyst driver
and installing afterwards the FGLRX (post-update version) in Hardware
Drivers section. That fixed 3D acceleration, I wonder why ATI Binary was
unable to install correctly.
