Hi,
I think adding 'acpi_backlight=vendor' to grub cmd option fix problem
for only Intel graphics cards, for other GPU this bug is still present.
This is very serious one. As this affects linux usability and stability.

I tried out what was written in the comment but it did not work out.
The backup progress bar stopped and shutdown dialog window turned
transparent for about 10-15 sec
The 'gtk-redshift ' (GUI for redshift) package is broken on my system too, but
redshift works fine on my Dell Inspiron 14r N4010 when invoked from the command
line.
