Using Ubuntu 9.10, all updates applied, running Lotus Notes 6.5.6 in
WINE, this is still a problem, both running as a window, and running
full screen. If it's running in a window, it disappears immediately on
switching the desktop, if it's running full screen, it takes several
flips back and forth
I'm running Samba on a Linksys/Cisco NSLU2 (the slug!) and started
having this problem after upgrading my client from 8.04 to 8.10. Just
wanted to report that the "nodfs" mount option took care of the problem
for me. Thanks everyone for all the work figuring this out!

I'm seeing the same thing after upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10, with a dual
monitor setup and Xinerama. I have this in one of the Device sections
in my xorg.conf:
Option "RandRRotation" "true"
Option "Rotate" "left"
Because at one time that's how I finally got rotation to wo
And now I've upgraded my other (main) machine using the same solution of
"sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx". Again had no effect on my machine and
went straight to upgrade with no troubles.

Good news! I was able to upgrade on my first machine.
I didn't really know what to do about removing the driver -- in my
searching I got the idea to try "sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx", and
that removed some stuff and after a reboot didn't seem to affect my
graphics situation. I had expected I

this one I originally installed 7.04 in May 2007 and upgraded to 7.10 in
