Confirmed on Thinkpad T30 with Hardy. Had an OSD in Gutsy.

On my updated Hardy machines, I have to edit two files to get this to
work.
I changed the cups-pdf output directory in /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf:
Out ${HOME}/Desktop
and also in /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.cupsd:
@{HOME}/Desktop/ w,
@{HOME}/Desktop/* w,
...I did not need to set cupsd to complain
A few comments:
1. This seems to have been removed without any care for the Ubuntu
variants that don't rely upon nautilus.
2. The shares-admin tool wasn't for advanced configuration, but was
still a centralized place to configure sharing (which many modern
OS's/distros seem to have). The additio

This appears to be fixed in the Hardy beta. I changed the cups-pdf output

This bug is probably a combination of a number of communication problems
between the exchange-connector and MS Exchange servers. Before giving
up on the exchange-connector, however, I think it's useful to take a

I'm not having the problem, so I can't really test it out.

I can confirm that this bug is still present in the latest package in
Gutsy. I made the (very easy) fix Jerry Chong recommends above, and
iriverter loads without any errors.
Since this is a simple change to one file, it's a bit disappointing that
it hasn't been fixed yet...

...I agree, I'd like to have the option of using Iceweasel in whatever

Debian and Mozilla over the branding.

Yeah, switching back to .12 kernel version at boot worked fine for me
with the wireless driver. The Atheros driver is the only restricted one
I use, so going back to .12 for other restricted modules may not work.

Same problem here with a Thinkpad R51. I plugged in eth0 for now, but
will try rebooting with the old kernel. Nice to see a bug report so
quickly, but hopefully this can be resolved quickly (I've got a Thinkpad
X22 I'm afraid to reboot now after the .13 kernel update).

I had this same problem with Feisty on an Intel 855GM with the i810
driver. I fixed it by using xvattr to set XV_CONTRAST to 64 as
described in the previous post.

It may be a workaround, but you're right it's certainly not a good
solution...it's not fun/user-friendly to edit config files :)
Good to see some action on this...I'm sure Ubuntu's target audience
would like to see some improvement in the xscreensaver setup.

Just so you guys know how to change this (at least in Feisty) -
Edit the file /usr/share/applications/screensavers/personal-slideshow.desktop
and change the "location" in the line:
Exec=slideshow --location=Pictures
...the rest of the xscreensaver settings are also in
