Hi, I recently experienced the same "bug" when updating the kernel on my gentoo-box. I traced the problem to the official kernel patch 2.6.27.9 (your -11-version seems to be ubuntu-specific, since 2.6.27.11 doesn't exist on kernel.org) found here: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/patch-2.6.27.9.bz2 The driver for the audigy sound card (emu10k1) was updated, they swapped the digital-analog switch of the volume control.
To address this, start "alsamixer" in a console-window. Go to the "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack"-item and make sure it is set to "MM" (mute). The switch can be triggered using the "m"-key. Hit Escape to store the settings. You might also find this switch in the Gnome Sound Settings. -- no sound with kernel 2.6.27-11 and audigy2 zs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
