When booting with kernel version 2.6.31.19 my laptop which has 2 SATA drives
starts correct. But with the upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04 the booting fails when
using the 2.6.32.22 kernel

Problem has been noticed in other kernel versions as well: 2.6.32.21,
2.6.33 and 2.6.35 . Booting with 2 SATA drives fails

Kernel 2.6.32.21 or higher (even 2.6.35) fails to boot when multiple SATA (2)

When removing the /dev/sdb disk, the kernel boots without a problem with
all kernel versions. But with a second disk in place kernel version
2.6.32.22 and also version 2.6.35 fall back to the initramfs command
line.
