I have an Acer Aspire 3003NLMi and I get the same error in dmesg.
However, in Karmic the control of the fan is problematic. Quite often
the fan fails to start up and remains off even when the temperature goes
up above 80 degrees C! It has not been a rare occurrence for my laptop
to power off

Recording works perfectly and plays back just as well with play-through

I've used the official build on the last few releases of Ubuntu
I perused that wiki link, but it mostly refers to changing the USB cable
and other tactics, but this is an OS-centric issue. I'm sure the

It was a problem with how empathy notifies of a new message but its been
fixed. Before when you turned on notifications it notified you of all of
the new messages and that was a problem if you are using empathy for
IRC. Sorry for the confusing wording.

I really cannot give an answer. It must clash with something, but no
one has been able to figure it out. It is a real pain, because I really
like glipper. This has been a bug for years, and no answer better than
that has been presented.

Worked for me, I had it set to 30, and then started crashing it
regularly at startup. I upped it to 90 seconds, and that is working
now. I also went through a bunch of stuff in my startup and eliminated

Binary package hint: computer-janitor
Computer janitor could clean up residual configuration files and blank folders
in the home directory. I was just looking at the hidden files in the home
directory and there was a lot of programs that weren't installed anymore. Like
Actually I got Cinelerra mixed up with another program that I removed. Ill put
the link into the wiki for it.
I removed it originally because I thought that stuff not in the archive
shouldnt be recommended.

Hmm well I looked at the website and it doesnt seem to be actively
maintained.
Ive reworked the sentence you suggested
Well there is a difference between the programs but I only really have
experience with pitivi and kino. Id very much recommend pitivi because
kino edits only .dv files the rest
Still a a problem in karmic amd 64 Empathy 2.27.4

A few of the video editing software isnt actively maintained. I think
that we should recommend Kino and pitivi because both are installable
from the archive and are actively maintained. The others should be
removed.
