Sorry for the late reporting of the bug. I forgot about it.
If I turn down the brightness and only move the mouse cursor 10 seconds
later. It brightens up as if it was in a 'not being used' mode to
conserve battery power and my input has no relevance to that.

When I log into unity or gnome shell I do not get gnome shell at all
just gnome classic with worse icnos and things (attached screenshot.
Unity is not proper clean unity it has the same poor icons and jittery
performance.
This started happening about four days ago.

There is complete destruction of the gnome interface (I'll attach

Of note I'm guessing is the fact that unity toolbar appears flashing in
