virtualbox via apt. I am able to run VMs and use vboxmanage, but
everytime I run vboxheadless to start a VM, I get the following error:

I've found a solution (Aspire 5710, Ubuntu 11.04, trackpad jumps all over the
screen, Windows is fine).
I needed to add the following to my kernel parameters:
i8042.reset i8042.nomux

I had the same issue and I had to boot from a CD, mount the filesystem
and edit the fstab and comment out the usb entry. After that I was able
to boot.
