Have the same problem. The wireless USB card stopped working with Intrepid
after installing the latest updates.
Same error messages as the original post. Was working fine before.

Looks like the bug has been fixed. With the latest nVidia binary drivers
(177.62) and all Ubuntu updates till 9/22/08 both displays function
