I am not able to test this currently as my Ubuntu box, mobo just died, but I believe it may be a solution if someone can test it out and report back. ~Open a Terminal sudo apt-get install alsa-base alsa-utils build-essential linux- headers-$(uname -r) sudo alsa unload sudo remove alsa-modules-
