You don't need to uninstall. Just log out and log into Ubuntu to do the
update. Worked for me.

I logged out of Cinnamon and into Ubuntu. Then it updated fine. Then log
back into Cinnamon and Bob's your uncle.

Was running 13.10 with Cinnamon. Update gets to calculation and says

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release ve

I upgraded to Ibis last week, and am having this bug, (not able to
find the help file.) It makes these fine puzzles just that much more
challenging! (You have to figure out what the objective is just from
seeing it!)
Should I reinstall Yelp?

In Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft and 7.04 Feisty Fawn, Firefox isn't behaving
properly... I can set it to open links in a new tab where I select it as
my default browser, but if I do that, it wont open external links ie
from Thunderbird or Gaim. If I set it to open links in new windows
I found a solution - for me anyways:
sudo cp /etc/init.d/networking /etc/networking.old
sudo rm /etc/init.d/networking
Just removed the S40 networking service from the /init.d folder. Startup time
in Feisty Fawn is now 31 seconds:

Having the same problem in Feisty Fawn on my laptop. Using network-
manager-gnome, so for me, trying to connect to my lan during boot is
really unnessesary. And when network-manager is installed by default in
Feisty, I really don't understand how this is happening?
