Any news about the bug? I know it is in process for quiet a long time..
I personally switched to Ubuntu but I had no luck with the new Kernel. I
also tried the radeon.modeset=0 but I had no luck in Ubuntu either.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hello!! I'm on Mint 9. I have exactly the same problem. Every time I try
to connect my TV through VGA with my ATI radeon mobility X1600 I get a
wavy screen on the TV set. Does anyone know if the problem will be fixed
