I think I had the same problem. It said there was 1 item. But there was none in it. In the file .gnome/gnome-vfs/.trash_entry_cache it seems it caches information about the trash can. There was a line pointing to a patch that did not exist anymore. When I deleted the file, and reloaded the tras
