On the toch pad of the Acer Travelmate 8571 is printed a arrow for scrooling.
But now (I think since smaller area) is two finger scrolling available.
So you don't neet to use the smaller area, you can use two fingers.

my aim was not to say that I have a problem with the bug.
I have no problem with the bug.
With my kubuntu 12.04 installation I use the i8042-reset so it works.
Furthermore I would say that the problem is solved for future.
In the daily version from ubuntu 12.10 the bug doesn't app

I can confirm, with ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) daily-live, downloaded a few hours
ago, standby (suspend to RAM) works out of the box.

In 10.10 it's no problem with confused screen when switch to text console with
CTRL+ALT+F1.
The same is no problem after suspend to RAM.
But note: this is a special install of ubuntu 10.10 I have not installed it on
the laptop's HDD, I have done this with an other computer (with ATI Graphics),

... and this one was the first I have ... I mean after fixing the confused
screen problem
After this Xorg crash the screen was confused, and this is the first one that I
have noticed (above also noticed NOT notified).
Now, I have installed the newest driver revision. Suspend makes no problems,
Before your patches, and new drives, the confused screen comes every
time after suspend, and this one was the first I have notified (X is
crashed, and restarted - with five suspends before). Now with two
suspends and kill Xorg, the problem does not occure.
Have you fixed the XVideo problem, I hav

(with time and date, applikations, ...)
NOTE (!some time ago BEFORE the usevbe patch...!!!):
I have installed Windows 7 as dual boot.
I think (I can't say it by 100% safety) once time after I rebooted from Win7

A few days ago, I had have an another error.
I was programming in Netbeans in C++, then the X windows system restarts
suddenly, and I must log in twice.
Before the laptop was often in suspend to ram mode, after this "restart" the
